Hello, I'm Roseann.
I'm a natural light documentary and portrait photographer in Northern California. Bearing witness to the love is an enormous privilege, something I wholeheartedly enjoy, and a responsibility I don't take lightly. I will either be smiling, laughing, or crying behind the camera.
Last summer my husband and I moved into our 136 year old home in Grass Valley. You can usually find us working in the garden or playing with our two kitties. I love photographing people. Young people, old people, people in love. I specialize in shooting families, portraits, and weddings. I want to document your milestones and special occasions. The things that bring people together and need to be remembered.
I grew up in a small town called Willits and spent my childhood racing bikes down the runway of our tiny airport, climbing madrone trees, and collecting bugs in wide mouth pickle jars.
Both my parents were avid photo takers, and most of my memories are formed around those still images that once lived in the pages of albums and then later were strung across my bedroom. They moved to Hilo almost ten years ago, so now part of my heart lives on the Big Island. I am available to take photos in Hawaii a couple times a year (when I can afford a flight!).
I love a lot of things. I love babies and flower petals and artichokes. I love how light falls through trees. I love swimming and hiking and yoga. I love my kitties, and I love taking my camera for walks because we don't yet have a dog. I have loved my husband since I was fourteen. I dream of photographing our own babies someday, but until then I'd love to photograph yours.
I would love to learn your story and learn about your loves.
On the right sidebar of my blog you can view some full sessions: couples, families, little ones, portraits, weddings, and birth. I also shoot professional head shots and boudoir. Contact me for more info.
